Waterproof and bamboo mattress protectors
Two protectors, both fitted like a sheet and both machine washable: a terry cotton waterproof cover with a polyurethane membrane, and a bamboo version for a cooler surface.
What a mattress protector actually does
A mattress protector is a fitted layer that goes between your mattress and your bottom sheet. It takes the perspiration, the spilled drink, the baby's accident and the dog's paw print, and then it goes in the washing machine. An unprotected mattress takes all of the same things and cannot be washed at all.
Waterproof or bamboo
Both protectors here are waterproof and both are machine washable. The waterproof cover has a cotton terry top over a thin polyurethane membrane, with a hollowfibre layer that adds a little cushioning. The bamboo version uses a bamboo-blend surface, which is the cooler of the two to sleep on. Neither is a plastic sheet: both let air through and neither crinkles when you move.
Getting the size right
Measure the mattress rather than trusting the bed frame's name. The sizes on this page carry their centimetres, and the fitted skirt stretches over a mattress up to 40cm deep. If your mattress is deeper than that, or you are between two sizes, ask us before you order.
